Blue Merle America's Coldplay

A four piece band from Nashville, America, Blue Merle have already supported acts such as Badly Drawn Boy and Jem. Their single "Burning in the Sun" have aroused interest and has given them a step up into the music world. Their sound is soft and delicate, finding the melodies invading your heart and mind, and the words wanting you to hear more. They use a wide range of instruments in their album, that gives the songs a fuller, beautiful folklore sound, such as a mandolin, fiddle and upright bass. Similar to that of Crowded House, the singer Luke Reynolds has a Chris Martin'esq vocal sound, that's vunerable and lost. Their debut album titled "Burning in the Sun" is produced by Stephen Harris (U2, Kula Shaker, Dave Matthews Band). This album is worth checking out and is a band to look out for in 2005.
